Research
One of the centre’s major activities is to conduct cutting edge research in the field of genetic diseases in Arab populations. CAGS is affiliated with local and regional hospitals and conducts extensive clinical and molecular analysis for patients and their families, in order to better characterize genetic abnormalities. The genetic depiction of these disorders provides valuable insights into the underlying molecular pathology of the disorder.
CAGS regularly publishes original research articles and open access publications in international peer-reviewed journals indexed by the National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health (PubMed). These papers provide information on previously unknown genetic mutations in Arab patients with hereditary diseases.
